The gun has a realistic fell to it,the gun has a realistic weight compared to the real one. The accuracy exceeds your expectations of a co2 pistol, you will enjoy it very much as have I. Recommend using .20 pellets instead of .12, .12 wear down the barrel inside the gun after a cuple of years.

This is a full scale replica of the new and popular M&P series of handguns. It features an easy to load co2 compartment which is build into a generous 15 shot magazine. The body of the gun is made from tough plastic, and the magazine is all metal, giving the gun a realistic and hefty feel when loaded, not to mention a muzzle velocity upwards of 380 fps! This is personally my favorite airsoft pistol. With a combination of high quality product and extremely reasonable price, this gun is a terrific deal! A+!!!

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Smith & Wesson M&P40 CO2 Non-Blowback Black Airsoft Pistol (Misc.)
While the pistol itself is great and I would’ve otherwise given it 4 stars, I already own 2 S&W CO2 magazines (purchased directly from Smith & Wesson) and so I was hoping the pistol would work with those magazines. It won’t.

The S&W magazines only work with M&P airsoft pistol models 320300, 32340, and 32341. While the Amazon product page for the airsoft pistol I purchased doesn’t call out the model number, because the cost is pretty close to the same as the one sold on the S&W site I assumed (incorrectly) it would be a compatible model. Looking at the box the pistol came in from TeeDubya Discounts it lists both European and USA model numbers; the USA model being 32303. So, it’s not compatible with the S&W magazines. The magazine will insert and lock into place but the trigger won’t travel back so won’t fire the pistol.

So, just be aware that if you already own Smith & Wesson CO2 magazines and you’re buying a pistol to use with them just look for one of the S&W airsoft pistol models I mentioned. Likewise, if you already own this pistol and were contemplating buying extra S&W magazines be aware they will not work in your pistol.

I’d suggest using the search term ‘smith wesson 320300’ in your search engine of choice. That’s what I used to find and purchase exactly what I wanted.

I still plan on keeping this pistol as a spare and for others to use. I’ll also say this airsoft pistol accepts my tactical light from my primary weapon and fits nicely in my holster with this configuration so I can still use and practice with it. I just won’t be able to practice administrative/tactical reloads, which is why have spare mag’s and require a compatible airsoft pistol.

    ** Update 06/27/2013 **

I ordered another M&P 40 airsoft pistol from a different site this time making sure it was model 320300. But, the magazines I ordered from the S&W site still don’t fit. Same issue as above. I’m not sure if these pistols are just knock-off’s and that’s why I’m having the problems but it now makes me wonder.

I finally did what I should’ve done in the first place; I ordered the pistol directly from the S&W site. It’s the same price (cheaper than the one above even) and was delivered just a quickly. It came with a metal mag and the mag’s I ordered from S&W work just fine. Now I’m happy!

So, my suggestion is; if you don’t plan on ordering extra mag’s from S&W for training purposes then the pistol above will work just fine, or look elsewhere. The one above came with a plastic magazine whereas the last one I ordered from a different seller at least came with a metal magazine. Be sure to read the spec’s to make sure it specifies it comes with a metal mag. A metal magazine adds additional weight so the pistol feels more substantial and realistic. Although it’s still lighter than the real thing, it’s sufficient for training purposes. If you do plan on ordering extra mag’s, do yourself a favor and just order directly from S&W.
